LOCATION AND SETTING
Sand Farm Chalet nestles on the prow of Pen Hill where the Roncombe and Sid Valleys meet in the heart of East Devon. The position is sheltered to the north by the ancient oak and beech woodland which covers the crown of the hill. There are spectacular views south over the village of Sidbury down the Sid Valley to Sidmouth and the sea of Lyme Bay.
Sand Farm Chalet is about a mile from the village of Sidbury which has a pub, a family run butchers and a general store. The picturesque Edwardian sea side town of Sidmouth is 4 miles from the chalet. Sidmouth has much to offer the visitor with its easily accessible beaches, promenade, well maintained gardens, swimming pool and a wide variety of shops.
The chalet is secluded but not isolated in its elevated position and provides an excellent base for those wishing to explore the beautiful countryside and coast of East Devon. It offers a distraction free escape from it all as there is no television only the wonderful views of the Devon countryside.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
The pretty wooden and slightly quirky chalet was originally built in the 1920’s and provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people (plus queen sized sofa bed in the lounge if required).
There is a double bed on the fully enclosed and heated veranda. The bedroom contains a single bed with an equally comfortable pull out single stored beneath. Bed linen is supplied throughout.
The Chalet has a modern shower room and fully equipped kitchen including microwave, washing machine and tumble drier. The chalet is warm as heating is provided by 3 night storage heaters and a modern efficient wood burning stove (wood is supplied).
The chalet is ideal for family holidays as children can have the freedom to explore the fields and woodland which is swathed in bluebells in the spring. There is a large flat securely fenced garden and as the chalet is reached via its own drive from a small country lane there are no worries about traffic.
